2nd Annual AMBUCS BOWLAPALOOZA

The Savannah chapter of AMBUCS, a non-profit service organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities, is hosting their 2nd annual BOWLAPALOOZA to benefit special needs children and adults. Enjoy a morning of bowling, door prizes and silent and live auction items all benefitting a great cause.

When: Saturday, October 12th from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
Where: Savannah Lanes, 115 Tibet Avenue

Tybee Island Pirate Fest

Held on the historical beaches of Tybee where pirates once frequented in the 17th and 18th centuries, this fest has piratical merriment including the Pirate Victory Parade, Scallywags Costume Contest, Buccaneer Ball, Thieves Market and Swashbucklers Bash, where the Tybee Pirate Festival King and Queen are crowned.

October 10-13; Tybee Island. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the festival.

Oktoberfest

Quite possibly the only festival in the world offering fried beer, Savannah’s Oktoberfest on the River kicks off fall with an ample variety of local brews and bratwursts, cloggers and wiener dog races. This riverside festival also showcases live acts and performances and a juried arts and crafts exhibition. Free admission.

The Leukemia Cup Regatta

The second largest Leukemia Cup in the country, the St. Joseph’s/Candler’s annual Leukemia Cup Regatta includes a clay shoot, golf, fishing, a yacht hop, auction and 5K run annually to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma society, the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer research.
